You can store almost any item in a storage unit, from furniture and appliances to sports equipment and seasonal decorations. Not only is it convenient and secure to store many bulky items like mattresses or large TVs, but it also allows you to easily access those items without taking up valuable space in your home.

Self-storage facilities are also great for businesses that need extra space for extra stock, paperwork or even office equipment.

The cost of a storage unit typically comes down to several factors, such as:

• The size of your unit
• The length of time you store
• The popularity of your chosen unit size
• Extended access hours required
• If payment is monthly or upfront in advance

The cost for our smallest unit starts from just £37 per month. However, there will be additional charges if you lose your fob or padlock keys.

We have a wide selection of packing materials available to purchase from our storage centre, including boxes, bubble wrap and furniture covers. Keep your items safe and secure with our large variety of boxes and other materials.

We are unfortunately unable to accept cash or cheques at this time. Instead, we require payment via credit or debit card.

The best rates are for long-term customers, and in this instance it’s best to come into the store and have a chat about your needs and how long you need to store.

You can access your unit once payment has been made, you’ve filled in the necessary paperwork and provided the required I.D documents. You can then come and go as you please!

We will always do our best to give you the best price and match any like for like offer.

Yes we do! We stock a range of packing materials, including boxes, bubble wrap, furniture covers, packing tape and more. These can be bought in store, perfect for those last minute moves. We can also provide an extensive range of trolleys and pallet trucks to help you move your goods into your storage unit with ease.

As with any rental agreement, you are required to sign a contract when renting self storage. This document outlines the terms and conditions of your rental agreement and is your legal obligation to pay for the space rented.

No, because each customer is issued with a personalised fob, which allows access and records who is in the storage facility. This ensures the safety of our customers, staff and their belongings.

Yes, in fact you can rent with us for as long as you need to! Month to month rentals are great for those who need short-term storage and want the flexibility of not being tied to a yearly or longer lease. You will be required to pay one month in advance. After the initial payment, you will be set up for automatic payments through direct debit.

Security is a high priority and our Melksham store has state of the art CCTV which is in operation 24 hours a day internally and externally, along with intruder and fire/smoke alarms. Access to the unit area is via personally programmed fobs and your individual unit will be padlocked by you.

If you click on Size Guide under Advice Hub sizing examples are available. Alternatively give us a call, or ideally pop in and take a look at the units so you can work out which size will suit your needs.

Not a problem, provided we have a larger or smaller unit available we can move you to a more suitably sized unit and adjust the price.

There is no notice required to rent a storage unit, although certain sizes are very popular. So it is a good idea to reserve your unit either in store or over the phone.

If you no longer need your unit, we only ask for 14 days notice.

You can cancel a policy at anytime prior to the date of move in and any reservation fees will be refunded back to the debit/credit card you paid with.

Any refund can take up to 10 working days to appear in your account. We are unable to refund on to a card other than the credit or debit card that was originally used. Where this agreement has terminated and you have paid more of our fees and charges than are due at the termination date, we will refund the balance to you after deduction of any payments due to us. The rental portion of our fees will be refunded to you, less any charges. Refunds in this instance will be made on to the same card that payments had been made from, or if payments are made via Direct Debit, refunds will be made via Direct Credit into the same bank account. Direct Credits and card refunds can take up to 10 working days to be made.

You can stay as long as you want (provided you pay of course!). We just need 14 days notice if you want to leave.

You pay 1 month in advance and every month after that. The first payment will be made by credit/debit card. After that you will pay by direct debit. We are unfortunately unable to accept cash or cheques.

Yes, it is mostly common sense, but a list of prohibited items are detailed below:

• Food or perishable items
• Compressed gases
• Toxic, pollutant or contaminated goods
• Firearms, munitions or explosives
• Radioactive materials
• Chemicals or biological agents
• Flammable or hazardous goods
• Any item that emits fumes, odour or a smell
• All living plants and animals
• Cash and securities
• Fireworks
• Illegal goods and/or stolen goods
• Waste, asbestos or any other potentially dangerous materials

We do not allow the storage of motorised vehicles inside our storage units.

The majority of our customers will only need to access their goods during our manned office hours, and this helps to make our storage units particularly secure. However we understand that some customers may require extended access hours, and these can be arranged through reception.

Whilst our Melksham store has been built with security in mind, there may unfortunately be some scenarios that we cannot anticipate such as fire or flood. For this reason we need to ensure that all goods are fully insured when they are stored with us. We will not allow a customer to store goods that are not insured. We provide comprehensive insurance cover through Lonham Group Ltd that is specifically designed for self storage. It covers more perils than your standard household insurance policy and provides additional protections should something unforeseen happen. The policy is valid whilst your goods are stored within your storage unit, they are not covered whilst you are loading, unloading or in transit. As this policy is not connected to your household policy, if there is a claim, any no claims discount you have will not be affected.

The protection that we offer covers actual physical loss of or damage to our customers property caused by: Fire, lightning, explosion, earthquake, storm, flood, bursting &/or leaking pipes, ingress of water or other liquid substance, aircraft or articles dropped therefrom, theft accompanied by forcible and violent entry to or exit from the building or unit, riot, strike, civil commotion, malicious damage and impact by vehicles or railway rolling stock.

This will vary from customer to customer and depends on the value of the items being stored. Your items must be insured for their true, total replacement value. If you fail to declare the full replacement value of your property on the Licence Agreement, in the event of a claim you will only be entitled to recover from Insurers the proportion of the loss as the declared value bears to the total replacement value of your property. As members of the Self Storage Association (UK) we abide by their terms and conditions and part of their security protocol is checking the identification of everyone who uses a unit. As such we will require the following ID documents to be shown when you check in:

• Passport or Photocard Driving Licence
• Proof of address (utility bill or bank statement dated in last 3
  months)
